CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A rural Cass County drug deal spiraled into violence, leaving one man shot and another now sentenced to prison.

Kyle McLeod, who was involved in a July 31, 2024, incident, has pleaded guilty to accomplice to robbery and aggravated assault. According to court documents, the victim called 911 after being shot in the lower abdomen during a drug deal involving McLeod and Starmaine Hoeper.

The victim had reportedly met the pair to purchase drugs when he was robbed and shot. He was hospitalized for his injuries.

Hoeper now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, intent to deliver fentanyl, unlawful firearm possession, and accomplice to aggravated assault.

McLeod was sentenced to 3 years in prison, with 321 days of credit for time served, and will be on supervised probation for 3 years following his release.
