Red Lake (trfnews.i234.me) — A dangerous, high-speed chase ended dramatically in a Red Lake field as Kyle J. Nadeau of Red Lake and Cherie K. Kingbird of Cass Lake now face felony charges stemming from a June 30th pursuit.
According to court documents, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on Highway 89, north of Bemidji, when Nadeau fled at speeds reaching 100 mph. The pursuit escalated as Kingbird reportedly leaned out of the passenger window twice, using a flashlight in an attempt to blind the pursuing officer.
The chase finally came to an end when both suspects were apprehended in a field on the Red Lake Reservation.
Nadeau is charged with felony fleeing a peace officer, while Kingbird is charged with felony aiding an offender to avoid arrest.
Authorities have not yet disclosed what triggered the initial stop attempt, but more details may emerge as court proceedings continue.
