Sherburne County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 3:42 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on northbound Highway 169 at 219th Avenue NW in Elk River. A 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by 40-year-old Johara Ahmed Hassan of Ramsey, was traveling northbound when it collided with a southbound 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 61-year-old Nereyda Martinez Zaleta of Minneapolis. Hassan and her three passengers—16-year-old Annabel Vang, 9-year-old Mason Vang, and 8-year-old Avyana Vang, all from Zimmerman—sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment. Martinez Zaleta also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital. All individuals were wearing seat belts, except for the 8-year-old passenger. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
