Tolna, ND – September 20, 2024 — A 66-year-old man from Walhalla sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident on 100th Avenue NE, just two miles north of Tolna. The crash occurred at approximately 4:20 PM CDT under clear weather conditions and on good roads.
Crash Details: The driver, Johnny Anderson, was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban when it suddenly crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic. The vehicle then vaulted off a driveway, coming to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road, facing northeast. Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, though the vehicle’s airbags deployed.
Emergency Response: Anderson was promptly transported to CHI St. Alexius Health in Devils Lake by McVille Ambulance Service. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.
