Pierce County, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) A serious two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 left an Esmond woman injured Tuesday afternoon. The North Dakota Highway Patrol released updated information on the incident, which occurred on November 11 at around 1:25 p.m.
According to the report, an 88-year-old woman from Esmond was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer south on Highway 3 near mile marker 189. At the same time, a 2005 Sterling LT9500 truck was traveling west on a gravel township road. The truck entered Highway 3 and struck the Blazer in a T-bone collision.
The impact caused major damage to the Blazer. The driver, identified as Jane Wolfe, was wearing her seat belt. She suffered serious injuries and was taken by Rugby Ambulance to a local medical facility. Her current condition has not been released.
The driver of the Sterling truck, 47-year-old Leo Adam of Rugby, was not injured. Officials say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Both drivers’ actions remain under investigation.
The crash occurred in good weather and clear road conditions. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Rugby Police Department, Rugby Fire Department, North Dakota Game and Fish, and Rugby Ambulance Service. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
The crash remains under review as officers continue to gather statements and reconstruct the sequence of events. No charges have been filed at this time.
