Narrative:
On May 26, 2024, at around 10:49 a.m., a serious two-vehicle crash occurred on westbound I-94 near MM 351, under the Fargo Red River Walk Bridge. The accident involved a Nissan Rogue and a Peterbilt semi-truck with a tanker trailer. The semi-truck driver, Guertin, slowed down for traffic, and the Nissan, driven by Salman, rear-ended the tanker. Neither Salman nor her juvenile passenger was wearing seatbelts. Salman sustained serious injuries, while the juvenile had minor injuries. Both were taken to Sanford Hospital by ambulance. Guertin was unharmed.

Westbound traffic on I-94 was reduced to one lane for an hour while emergency responders assisted and investigated. The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Fargo Police Department, Fargo Fire Department, and Sanford Ambulance all responded. The crash is still under investigation, and the juvenile’s name will not be released.
