Akron Township, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A semi-truck crash occurred at 4:59 PM on February 24, 2025, on Highway 12 at Milepost 14 in Akron Township, Big Stone County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2022 Freightliner Semi, driven by 33-year-old Shafiq Raihan of San Antonio, TX, was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 when it swerved and crashed into the north ditch.
Emergency responders from the Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Artichoke First Responders, Odessa Fire Department, and Ortonville Ambulance arrived at the scene. Raihan sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ortonville Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the driver was wearing a seatbelt, no airbag deployment was necessary, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol has marked the investigation as complete.
