A collision occurred on Saturday between a semi-truck hauling gravel and an eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train in Cass County, North Dakota.
According to reports from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jose Garza (36) of Penitas, Texas was driving the Kenworth semi when it failed to stop for automatic crossing arms. As a result, the truck struck one side of an intermodal railcar northwest of Ayr just before 8:30am.
Garza sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Page Ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
