Scott Roger Molstad passed away peacefully from cancer related complications in Mexico with his wife on Wednesday, August 1, 2024 at the age of 60. Scott was born in Grand Forks on January 25th, 1964 and raised by his parents Dennis and Kyle Molstad with his four siblings (Drew, Jud, Brann (Bubba), and Justine). Together as a family they enjoyed skii trips to Colorado, where Scott excelled as a skier. In Grand Forks Scott enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and a good Red Pepper grinder. He attended The University of North Dakota, where he earned his degree in Civil Engineering in the year 1988. After his graduation his cherished first son Brandon Molstad was born on July 9, 1988. Scott worked in Grand Forks at Floan Sanders for many years as a professional engineer. Scott met his wife Sena during a ND summer at Cooperstown Bible Camp on a retreat. The two of them fell deeply in love, and together married at Grace Baptist Church on August 12, 2000. Scott loved, adopted, and raised Ariana Molstad (O’Brien). Scott’s treasured son Chase Molstad was born October 16, 2001. Scott raised his family in Grand Forks, before moving to Gilbert, Arizona in 2007. While in Gilbert he purchased a home with his wife, where they then moved their family. Scott began working at Maricopa County Department of Transportation in 2014 where he enjoyed working as a project manager, as this was the perfect application of his analytical mind and engineering expertise. He was greatly cared for and by his coworkers at MCDOT. In AZ Scott enjoyed taking trips to ride in the dunes and riding his motorcycle with his wife on the back seat and adventuring. He also spent time building and creating his backyard into a beautiful space where he would spend his time swimming and to church with his wife. Scott is survived by his wife Sena Molstad; His children, and their partners: Brandon Molstad, Ariana Molstad (O’Brien) & McKenzie O’Brien, and Chase Molstad & Maryeli (Jelly) Lopez Garcia. His parents Roger Olufson, Dennis and Kyle Molstad; His siblings their partners and children: Drew & Megan Molstad (Lily Molstad, Jacob Molstad), Jud & April Molstad (Chloe Molstad, Christian Molstad), Brann Molstad, and Justine Gibbs (Gunnar Gibbs). Scott was a tremendously dedicated, loving family man, and he has instilled those values within his children. He found immense comfort in church and scriptures. He is dearly missed. His legacy lives on through those he loved. Services will be held in Grand Forks, North Dakota, at Hope church (1601 17th Ave S, Grand Forks, ND 58201) on September 6th, 2024. Visitation is at 10AM, service is at 11AM with a luncheon following.
