Jordan, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A devastating accident occurred on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at approximately 12:56 PM, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota Highway 282 in Jordan, Scott County. A 78-year-old local resident, Catherine Ann Johnston, tragically lost her life when her 2017 Subaru Outback collided with a 1995 Peterbilt semi-truck.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Johnston was traveling westbound on Highway 282 when she entered the intersection and was struck by the southbound semi-truck driven by 27-year-old Josh Paul Terres of Rice, MN. The impact was severe, and Johnston was pronounced dead at the scene. Terres was unharmed in the incident.
The road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the crash. Emergency response teams from Jordan Police, Jordan Fire, and Ridgeview Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed that Johnston died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the collision.
This tragic event underscores the importance of caution at intersections, especially those involving high-speed highways and heavy commercial vehicles.
