Samantha Erin Hutchinson, 32, has been sentenced to 13 months in prison, stayed for 30 months, following a felony conviction for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. Hutchinson’s sentence includes 30 months of supervised probation, mandatory completion of a comprehensive assessment, and treatment as recommended. She is also prohibited from possessing firearms for life unless her rights are restored.
The charges stem from an April 18, 2022, incident involving the theft of a coffee pot from Walmart and a hit-and-run in the parking lot. Law enforcement later located Hutchinson at a residence, where she denied the allegations. During booking, Hutchinson attempted to hide methamphetamine by ingesting it, leading to further complications.
Hutchinson was also ordered to pay $210 in fines and provide a DNA sample as part of her sentencing.
