SAINT CLOUD: Two Killed In Fiery High-Speed Crash After Fleeing Truck Runs Stop | trfnews.i234.me

Saint Cloud, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fourth of July week tragedy unfolded late Wednesday night, July 2, when two men from Saint Cloud were killed after their vehicle was T-boned by a fleeing pickup truck in a northside neighborhood.

According to the Saint Cloud Police Department, the incident began just before 11:46 p.m., when an officer observed a pickup truck speeding without headlights on 9th Avenue North. The officer attempted a traffic stop; the truck initially pulled over but then sped off as the officer approached.

During the stop, the driver was seen throwing an item—later found to be a firearm—from the vehicle before fleeing. Moments later, a crash was reported nearby at the 1300 block of 10th Avenue North, where the same truck collided with a westbound car, killing both occupants—a 59-year-old and a 45-year-old, both from Saint Cloud.

The 26-year-old driver from Sauk Rapids was taken to Saint Cloud Hospital in critical condition. His name has not been released.

An investigation is ongoing by the Saint Cloud Criminal Investigations Unit and the Minnesota State Patrol.
