SAFE HAVEN TRAGEDY: 2 Infants Lost, 2 Women Facing Serious Charges

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) In the past 3 weeks, two babies in our region have died and 2 women are facing possible, severe consequences. Safe Haven laws designed to protect those babies were never used.
in the past three weeks two babies in our region have died in two women are in jail on Saturday the body of a four month old boy was found in a slough in Stutsman County North Dakota near Woodworth the mother justice Lange is in jail on earlier charges not related to the case an autopsy will determine the child’s cause of death and whether charges will be filed regarding his death and last month a two month old baby girl was murdered in Red Lake Falls Minnesota 30 year-old Sarah Court an was charged with second degree murder after an autopsy revealed the baby died of multiple skull fractures Courtin was in custody of the baby as the child’s biological mother is in prison now while the legal system sorts out those two cases and people debate what should or shouldn’t be done to those two mothers it should be noted there are laws in place called safe haven laws that maybe could have brought a different outcome to these two cases safe haven laws are designed to protect babies in North Dakota a distraught overwhelmed mother can leave their child who was unharmed up to one year of age with any employee of a licensed hospital in North Dakota in Minnesota the safe haven law only allows babies up to three days old to be dropped off but in either state babies can be taken by social services and put up for adoption unfortunately there are options that weren’t utilized in these two cases so now both babies are gone and two women could be facing severe consequences I’m Neil Berg reporting for i news TV
