Ryan “Casey” Solberg, 22, of Goodridge, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was a loving soon to be husband, devoted father, loved son, brother and uncle.
A Memorial Service in honor of Casey will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN, with Pastor Kris Snyder officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday at the church.
Born in Bagley, MN on August 17, 2001, to parents Ryan and Erin Solberg. Casey was well known for his love, laughter, kindness and adventures with his family.
Casey has been involved in and enjoyed agricultural pursuits and farming his whole life. At an early age, Casey could be found farming with his dad, who was his best friend. Always helping with cows/calves, horses and would even be caught bringing kittens home. Casey continued his love for farming and started at Sjulestad Farms at 16. He was devoted to his work and was the best farmhand anyone could ask for. Casey had recently joined the Goodridge Fire Department in the spring of 2024. He was excited for the new adventure.
Casey met Melina Schmidt in 2018 who was the love of his life. Casey and Melina lived in Goodridge, MN. They welcomed their son, Carter John on June 28, 2023. Casey loved Melina and Carter with all of his heart, they were his whole world. He was an amazing father to “his little buddy” and the perfect soul mate for Melina. Casey would say when he married Melina his dad would be his best man.
Casey is survived by his parents, Ryan and Erin Solberg; the love of his life, Melina Schmidt; son, Carter Solberg; sisters, Rachel (Mathew) Sullivan, Ashlynne (David) Conley and Sydney Solberg; nieces, Mariah and Emilynn Sullivan; nephews, Aiven Sullivan and Colt Conley; his second families, the Schmidt’s, the Beckett’s and Sjulestad Farms.
Casey will be deeply missed by family and friends, but always remembered and honored.
