MCLEAN COUNTY, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Authorities have released details of a fatal rollover crash that claimed the life of a Ruso man over the weekend in McLean County.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 63-year-old Ward Knutson of Ruso was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 westbound on Highway 53 near mile marker 47, just west of Butte.
Investigators say the crash happened sometime between the evening of November 8th and the morning of November 9th. Knutson’s pickup lost control on an ice-covered section of the roadway, entered the south ditch, and rolled onto its driver’s side.
Knutson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was found deceased at the scene. Road conditions were reported as icy at the time of the crash, though weather conditions remain under review.
Responding agencies included the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Velva Ambulance, and the Butte Fire Protection District. The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
