HUBBARD COUNTY

HUBBARD COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) -A rural Akeley man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of disseminating child pornography.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported on April 15 that child pornography was being uploaded and disseminated from a computer in Hubbard County.

A subpoena served on a local telecommunications company confirmed the IP address involved was located in Hubbard County. One of the tips included a phone number that traced back to Mitchell Phillippi of rural Akeley.

Investigators executed a search warrant on Snapchat and found images containing child pornography linked to Phillippi’s residence. They seized his phone at his place of employment and arrested him.

Phillippi admitted to sending hundreds of images containing child pornography via Snapchat. He has been charged with eight felony counts of disseminating pornographic work involving minors under the age of 14.
