Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Roseau County man has been charged with first-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into a home late at night and frightening residents, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Ninth Judicial District Court.

Authorities say Joshua Paul Bleau, 40, entered a home without consent on July 19, 2025. A male victim reported that Bleau climbed through a window while he was in the bathroom. Moments later, a female victim said she heard loud banging by the stairs before Bleau allegedly ran upstairs, shook her, and demanded to know “where Rachel was.”

The victims told deputies they were fearful during the incident. Investigators noted there was no person named Rachel living at the residence. After entering and exiting multiple rooms, Bleau reportedly left the home through a laundry room window.

Deputies located Bleau shortly afterward on County Road 9 near County Road 20, where he was taken into custody. He is facing one felony count of first-degree burglary, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a $35,000 fine under Minnesota law.

Court documents list the case number as 68-CR-25-511.
