According to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in at approximately 2:51 p.m. reporting a juvenile with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency responders arrived quickly and began life-saving measures. The child was transported by LifeCare to LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, where he was later pronounced dead despite continued efforts.
Officials confirmed this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public. The matter remains under investigation by the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office.
Family and friends have identified the victim as McGregor, the son of Ted and Danielle Stewart of Roosevelt. Danielle is a stay-at-home mother who homeschools their children, while Ted works at Marvin Windows. He has been given two weeks of grieving leave before needing to transition to family medical leave.
A GoFundMe page created by Tonille Peterson is raising money to help the family cover funeral expenses and other bills. The campaign notes the family faces significant financial challenges following the tragedy. As of Tuesday afternoon, the page had raised nearly $10,000 in donations.
Daniel Stewart, the child’s father, is a 2005 graduate of Warroad High School. The community has expressed an outpouring of support, with donors offering both financial help and prayers for the grieving family.
