Ronald Joseph Brossart 72, formerly of Lakota, died peacefully in Fargo, ND on Saturday December 21, 2024.
Ronald was born on December 10, 1952, to Joseph Daniel & Antonia Magdalena (Weigel) Brossart. He was raised on a farm near Lakota, ND and graduated from Lakota High School in 1971, and in 1973 graduated with a degree in agriculture from Lake Region College in Devils Lake, ND. He met his wife to be Marjean Hjelseth and moved to the farm around Stump Lake, where he farmed until 1998. In 1999 Ron moved to Minneapolis MN, where he would work in metal fabrication and as a heat treating specialist. Also, graduated with a degree in wind turbine maintenance. He retired at the age 62, however, was a valet for Mystic Lake Casino, in Prior Lake, MN , until officially retiring to his farm in 2014.
Ron loved being outdoors and could often find him busy with many landscaping projects. He loved fishing for walleye and hosting family fish fries. He also enjoyed mowing, giving rides on the mower and making walking sticks with his grandchildren. For a few years Ron would become a snowbird and travel with his camper to Yuma, AZ. He enjoyed many campfires, played guitar, ukulele, and harmonica, with Johny Cash being his favorite country, Artist.
Ron was a kindhearted and giving man and was always there for his family when needed. He will be greatly missed.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his children: Brandie Soldo in North Dakota, Joseph (Stacy) Brossart of Aurora, CO, Jamie (Tim) Warren of Fargo, ND and Leah Caruso of Castle Rock, CO; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Joan Bareberg, Jolette Brossart Martinez in CO, Rollin (Michelle) Brossart in Florida, Ross (Becky) Brossart of Grand Forks, Rodney (Susan) Brossart of Lakota and Joline Lucier of Cavalier, ND; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Antonia Brossart and a niece, Chrissy Brossart.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10a.m. January 4th, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo.
Visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025_at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
