Ronald Eugene Anseth, age 65, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Marion Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND.

Ron was born January 17, 1959 to Harold and Maxine (Fahey) Anseth of Lakota, ND, with Down Syndrome and lived at home for the first 5 years. At age 5, Ron lived and attended special education school at the Grafton State School. Ron moved to Grand Forks and spent most of his adult life in group homes and apartments with a great roommate, Joey. Ron was cared for and supervised by Development Homes. Ron enjoyed meeting people and making friends (he had a lot of them). The family would like to thank David and all staff who cared for Ron. Ron worked at Grand Forks Air Base as a custodian for many years. Ron’s spare time was spent participating in Special Olympics, dancing, and hanging out with friends at the Listen Center, and going to the Listen Day Program on his days off and after retirement. Ron’s greatest thrill was participating in the Listen Center production of Grease. One of Ron’s favorite things was spending summer vacation, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with Mom. After Mom passed, that time was enjoyed with his brother’s families in Turtle Lake and Mandan. In October 2023, with worsening dementia, Ron moved to the Marion Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND. The staff at Marion Manor took excellent care of Ron.

Ron is survived by 2 brothers, Marvin (Mary) of Turtle Lake and Tom (Linda) of Mandan; 2 sisters, Mary (Ken) Eli of Alexandria, MN and Pam (Gene) Wohlsdorf of Fergus Falls, MN; aunt, Patty Schuh of Lakota; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron is preceded in death by grandpa and grandma, Jim and Eva Fahey; mom and dad, Harold and Maxine Anseth; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Fern Anseth; niece and nephew, Jill and Max Anseth.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Lakota, ND, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND
