Plummer – Rocky Jesperson, of Plummer, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, MN with his close family and friends at his bedside as he went into the arms of his Everlasting Father. He spent the last two and a half months at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home and the last three weeks of his life under hospice care.
Rocky Lloyd Jesperson was born June 2, 1953, to Lester “Chet” and Hazel (Chapman) Jesperson. Rocky grew up on the family farm and attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1971.
Rocky started working for Adams Construction of Omaha, NE working on the construction of the Gibson store in Thief River Falls. He also worked at Falls Concrete for a time. He started working for the Soo Line Railroad in 1973 and continued working there until 2007, when he retired due to health issues. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division, of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for 34 years.
All his life, Rocky enjoyed old tractors, especially Allis Chalmers, stationary engines, and Chevy pickups and his little one-ton Chevy truck. He would often have his one-ton Chevy truck or his tractors in parades in Plummer and other area towns. He often times had his tractors in tractor pulls. He also enjoyed watching old western TV shows. He enjoyed visiting with friends, neighbors, and family. He always had time to enjoy a cup of coffee with you! After it became too difficult for Rocky to get around, he enjoyed talking to his many friends on the phone and appreciated those friends who stopped at his house to visit.
Rocky is survived by many nieces and nephews, Stony (Patty) Jesperson and Steve (Melinda) Jesperson, Tim (Janet) Jesperson, Julie (Daniel), Lisa (Jeffrey), Heidi (Robert), Amy (Perry), Matt Jesperson, Nate Jesperson, Denice; sisters-in-law, Gloria Jesperson and Gladys Kush; and many close cousins, friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Chet Jesperson; and brothers, Lester “Jim”, Duane, and Dennis Jesperson.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls.
