Robert “Bob” Lloyd Bauste, age 76 resident of Grand Forks, ND died peacefully Monday, July 29, 2024, in Fargo, ND with his family lovingly by his side.
Robert Bauste was born on July 10, 1948, to parents Lloyd and Irene (Grindeland) Bauste in Willison, ND. Bob grew up in Wildrose, ND where he graduated from High School in 1967. He went on to study Psychology at Dickinson State and NDSU. Robert was united in marriage to Angelika “Ange” Ewert on August 6, 1977, in Fargo, ND. In 1979, Bob and Ange moved to Ellensburg, WA where he would pursue his master’s in psychology at Central Washington University. Bob and his family settled in Grand Forks, ND in 1984 where he would begin his career as a School Psychologist. Throughout Bob’s career he worked tirelessly to help children and adolescents succeed in school and find their potential. In 2014, Bob retired after 30 years to spend more time with his family and pursue his hobbies.
Everyone who knew Bob felt his big heart and giving nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his three grandchildren, Addison, Morgan, and Landon, who were the light of his life. Apart from his family, Bob had many passions, including gardening, music, and reading. In the summer months, he loved spending time outdoors with Ange, tending to their beautiful garden and watching the various birds that visited. His love for music continued throughout his life and he enjoyed sharing stories of the concerts he attended. When he wasn’t outdoors, he could often be found with a book, as he loved to read. Bob’s selfless nature, infectious smile, and laugh will be dearly missed. There are many lives Bob touched and always an interesting story that involved Bob, just ask his many friends and family.
Robert is survived by his wife Angelika of Grand Forks, ND; his son Dr. Grant (Terra) Bauste of Menomonie, WI; his daughter Rita (Dusty) Becker of Grand Forks, ND; his brother Wayne (Linda) Bauste of West Fargo, ND; his sisters Marilyn Blikre of Shelton, CT, and Jean (Dave) Farver of Williston, ND. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Irene Bauste; his parents-in-law, Artur and Luise Ewert; his brother Dr. Larry Bauste; and his brother-in-law Loren Blikre.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
