Richland County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Wahpeton man is facing multiple felony charges following a series of thefts and burglaries reported in November 2024.
According to court documents, Dustin Labelle has been charged with 10 felony counts, including seven theft charges, one burglary charge, and two counts of unlawful entry into a vehicle.
The case began on November 4, 2024, when a woman reported her vehicle had been stolen from her locked garage. Investigators say Labelle allegedly used a garage door opener from another vehicle parked outside to gain access.
The victim later tracked her stolen vehicle to Dakota Magic Casino using a mobile app. Court documents also state her credit card was taken from the vehicle and used to make five unauthorized purchases totaling $577.89. Purchases included:
-
$529.75 at Walmart
-
$45.89 at Econo Wine and Spirits
-
$2.14 at Dollar General
A second victim reported that her son’s vehicle was broken into on the same day. Stolen items included a $1,200 pool cue, a wallet, and $800 in cash. Authorities allege Labelle later dropped off those items, along with other stolen property, at a woman’s residence.
A warrant for Labelle’s arrest was issued on November 19, 2024. He made his initial court appearance on August 7, 2025.
Labelle now faces serious charges that could lead to significant prison time if convicted.
