Cannon City Township, Rice County (trfnews.i234.me) — A serious crash occurred Monday afternoon, March 10, 2025, on Highway 3 near 151st Street E in Cannon City Township. Authorities report that a 2007 Toyota Prius and a 2011 Peterbilt semi were both traveling southbound on Highway 3 when they collided.
The impact forced both vehicles into the ditch, with the semi-truck overturning in the process. The Prius driver, Lindsay Dixon Peterson, 41, of Minneapolis, and her passenger Joshua Mark Christianson, 36, of Saint Paul, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to District 1 Hospital. The semi driver, Timothy Allen Jewell, 62, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, was not injured.
Emergency response came from the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Faribault Fire Department, and North Memorial Ambulance. The road was dry at the time of the incident. The crash remains under investigation.
