REWIND UPDATE: Owner Reveals Theft Toll Climbs to $350,000 in Polk County’s Biggest Heist

CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) We have an update regarding our look back at the largest heist in Polk County history. The owner of the former Munn’s Jewelry in Crookston, Minnesota says burglars got away with as much as $350,000 worth of jewelry back in April of 2011.
it was a much larger crime than anyone knew we have an update regarding our look back at the april 2011 burglary of months jewelry in crookston the store was located here in the forney building in downtown crookston now being renovated by developer jeff evers since the building is being torn apart it gave us access to the scene of the crime back in 2011 burglars broke into the less secure four seasons clothing store next door then knocked a hole in the wall gaining access to this building that was mun’s jewelry now reports at the time indicated more than one hundred thousand dollars worth of jewelry was stolen however i got ivan fisher the former store owner on the phone this week and he says he actually lost between a 250 to 350 000 worth of jewelry and he says his loss was not insured and no one has ever been caught we now also have access to some of the police reports from that original investigation reports show a stanley 24-inch wrecking bar or crowbar water bottle and some clothing items were retrieved at the scene fingerprints and even dna samples never linked any of it to anyone and employees of months and four seasons clothing were also cleared the information in this case was shared with the minnesota bca and fbi and there was even a lead that similar style burglaries had occurred in sioux falls and watertown south dakota but nothing ever came of it at one point a local man was questioned and his residents searched after allegedly bragging about doing the burglary but that turned out to be just talk in april of 2016 the statute of limitations on this case ran out and we now know a suspects walked away with somewhere between a quarter of a million to 350 000 worth of jewelry in polk county’s largest heist in history i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
