Residents of Northwest Cavalier, ND Urged to Evacuate due to Sunday Flooding

CAVALIER, ND (trfnews.i234.me) City officials have asked residents in a section of Cavalier, North Dakota to evacuate because of flooding.
breaking news out of northeast north dakota in cavalier where city officials are asking for voluntary evacuations because of flooding uh this from a kelly trooper city administrator auditor quote due to the excessive rainfall amounts within the city of cavalier as well as the river contributions from surrounding areas the areas of river street south end of bjornson drive malana drive and madison street in cavalier will become inundated inundated and residents may be unable to leave due to flooded streets mayor hinkle has been briefed by the national weather service pembina county emergency management and houston engineering as a request as a precaution she is requesting that all citizens in those areas evacuate residents should be out of their home uh by 2 p.m all at this time right now on sunday may 1st uh you’re asked to gather your essential items and leave now the ideal scenario is for you to relocate with friends or family outside the danger area if you have nowhere to go please call 701 265-8259 again uh city officials say uh this advice that this is advice that no other areas in the city are being evacuated at this time and the city will notify residents if that changes updates can be found on the pembina county emergency management uh facebook page again a partial voluntary evacuation of uh cavalier north dakota on this sunday check back with inews we should have a story from the scene by 6 pm on this sunday i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
