GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A New Rockford man, Kyle Kahalehili Maez-Schaak, 31, was arrested in Grand Forks for allegedly fleeing police, marking his eighth such incident in the past six years. Maez-Schaak has been arrested more than 30 times in his adult life.
On Thursday, May 23, at 4:03 a.m., a county deputy attempted to stop a red Dodge Charger from crossing the center line. The vehicle briefly stopped before speeding off, reaching over 100 mph. The chase led through South Washington Street, and several residential roads, and ended when the car crashed into a parked vehicle on 27th Avenue South.
The driver fled on foot, and two occupants were arrested. Two hours later, police received a call about a suspicious male at a local residence. Maez-Schaak was identified as the driver and arrested for multiple offenses, including criminal mischief, driving under suspension, reckless endangerment, refusal to halt, fleeing a police officer, and two outstanding warrants.
