Reflecting on 9/11: A Moment of Unified America

Neil Berg here in downtown grand forks on the 20th anniversary of uh 911. 20 years today uh ago today i was working in the u.s bank building behind me on the fourth floor for local tv uh wound up broadcasting live later on in the day from the roof of that building uh quite a day to remember for everyone um following the attack in new york and washington and playing down in pennsylvania i drove out to the grand forks air force base to start doing some local reports on what was happening out at the air base they were doing explosive sweeps of all cars all vehicles entering the base and it was on lockdown and then a bit later an alarming incident out at the grand forks airport air traffic all over the united states had been grounded so we had planes landing from all over out at the grand forks airport and all of a sudden we got a report that a grand forks police were out there in a canine that sniffed positive for an explosive it was a white knuckle experience for the officers involved luckily it turned out to be a false alarm i guess uh one thing i can take out of and remember from that day 20 years ago is by the end of the day of how everyone was one america there was no republican or democrat we were one america maybe something to think about on this 20th anniversary of 9 11. we welcome your comments on our social media pages forks i’m Neil Berg reporting for eye news
