Reeling in Excitement: Bemidji’s Annual “Take a Kid Fishing” Event

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In Bemidji, Minnesota, the annual “Take a Kid Fishing” event cast its line on Wednesday. Over 100 kids, aged 10 to 15, were eagerly guided by around 60 local anglers. They explored numerous lakes, hooking a variety of fish species. The day culminated in capturing the moments with fish photos and savoring a delicious walleye fry at Bigi State Park by 5:00 p.m. This tradition, initiated in 1986, has been a steadfast fixture, except for a few COVID years. Thousands of area youth have been reeled into the world of angling through this event, thanks to Jim Joy and the Bemidji Area Take a Kid Fishing initiative.
