Beltrami County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On May 17, 2025, at approximately 9:38 PM, Bemidji police officers on patrol near Fourth Street Northwest observed a male in the parking lot of the Arco gas station who appeared to be urinating. The individual was recognized as 34-year-old Cheyenne John Waybenais of Redby, Minnesota, who was known to have an outstanding warrant.
Upon arrest, Waybenais allegedly directed threatening remarks toward one of the officers, stating, “I’d beat your ass out of that uniform and what’s your address? I’ll find you off duty.” As a result, Waybenais is now facing an additional felony charge of terroristic threats.
He is currently in custody at the Beltrami County Jail, awaiting his initial court appearance. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
