Red Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) — Fire danger is high across Red Lake County as multiple grass fires erupted around the region today, with firefighters battling flames at several locations.
One of the more alarming incidents occurred at the Red Lake Falls landfill, where the yard waste pile ignited, quickly spreading into nearby trees. Crews were able to get the fire under control before it caused further damage.
Another active fire was reported near Glacial Ridge, east of the Crookton Wildlife Refuge — the second such fire at that location within a week. Additionally, to the north near Nebish, Minnesota, south of Bermji, fire crews responded to a wildfire that spread into tree lines, leaving behind charred ditches and scorched ground.
Authorities are warning residents to stay cautious due to extremely dry conditions contributing to rapid fire spread.
