On the morning of 07/25/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a break-in at the Plummer Community Hall. A Red Lake County deputy responded and investigated the report. There was minor damage to one of the exterior doors, but nothing appeared to be missing. Investigation led to the discovery that three local juveniles committed the offense. The juveniles and their parents were notified, and it was agreed that they would all perform some community service for the city to make things right.
At approximately 01:47am on 07/26/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 Call about a single vehicle rollover crash on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County deputies, the Red Lake Falls Ambulance, and the Red Lake Falls Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. When emergency crews arrived, they found an unoccupied vehicle that was severely damaged. After some searching, the driver and lone occupant, Morgan Lea O’Hara (25) of Crookston, was located by a Red Lake Falls firefighter, approximately ¼ mile from the scene of the crash. Ms. O’Hara was transported to the Riverview ER in Crookston to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the case remains under investigation.
On the morning of 07/27/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a live power line fell onto two vehicles that were parked in a driveway, and started a fire, near the intersection of 2nd Ave. and Bourden St. in Oklee. Red Lake County law enforcement, the Oklee Fire Department and the Oklee Ambulance responded to the scene. Two vehicles were severely damaged, but the fire department was able to keep the fire from spreading to the nearby garage and house. There were no injuries and the power for the entire city was out for approximately four hours. Ottertail Power crews were able to stabilize the scene and restored power to the city.
On the morning of 07/27/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a tree fell onto a county road near Old Treaty Crossing Park. The Red Lake County Highway Department was notified, and they responded to clear the obstructed roadway.
On the evening of 07/27/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported that someone may have tampered with a door at their residence. That incident remains under investigation.
On the morning of 07/28/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an individual acting inappropriately at Riverside Park in Red Lake Falls this past weekend. That report is still under investigation.
On the morning of 07/28/25, a Brooks resident reported a theft of property. A Red Lake County deputy investigated that report and it was determined to be a civil matter, not criminal. On the morning of 07/30/25, some of the reported items were returned to the complainant.
On the morning of 07/29/25, Levi James German (18) of Thief River Falls was cited for speeding on Hwy. #32 south of Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 07/29/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property from a residence in Poplar River Township. That report remains under investigation.
On the afternoon of 07/29/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about some kids operating an ATV in a reckless manner at Riverside Park in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located the suspects, counseled them, and sent them home.
On the afternoon of 07/29/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported their cat had gone missing the night before. The reporting party lives in the Bottineau Ave. area. The cat is described as an adult female Siamese with blue eyes. If anyone locates the missing cat, they can contact the Sheriff’s Office.
On the afternoon of 07/30/25, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a Red Lake Falls apartment. The deputy discovered that a mother and her juvenile daughter were having a verbal argument. The involved parties were counseled, and the incident was mediated.
On the afternoon of 07/31/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a theft of property. That report is still under investigation.
On the evening of 07/31/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of ATV’s and motorcycles driving around and causing some damage to a private roadway near Plummer. That matter remains under investigation.
