In the early morning hours of 05/31/25, Red Lake County deputies responded to a disturbance at an Oklee apartment for the third time that same night. Previous attempts to mediate the situation had not worked. Investigation revealed that during the latest incident, Aaron Duane Stevens (29) of Thief River Falls, had assaulted a female at that location. He was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston, and was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 06/02/25. Mr. Stevens was released on the Red Lake County charges, but Pennington County had issued a warrant for his arrest for violating the terms of his supervised probation. He was turned over to Pennington County authorities and transported to the jail in Thief River Falls.
On the afternoon of 05/31/25, Deacon Louis Stickel (19) of Grand Forks was cited for speeding on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls.
On the evening of 05/31/25, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls for speeding. Investigation during the stop revealed the driver, Christian Jaymes Sabado (22) of Grand Forks was under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Sabodo was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston, and was booked for misdemeanor DWI. He was released from custody the following day.
On the evening of 06/01/25, a Red Lake County deputy received information that a golf cart had been stolen from Thibert’s Chevrolet in Red Lake Falls the previous day, and the deputy also found where the stolen golf cart had been stashed. The golf cart was recovered and returned to Thibert’s. The deputy also spoke with a juvenile suspect and the case remains under investigation.
On the morning of 06/02/25, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a disturbance at an Oklee residence. The deputy arrived to find an ex-boyfriend refusing to leave a residence after being asked to leave by the property owner. The deputy advised him to leave and trespassed him from the residence. The male party left without incident and the matter was resolved.
On the evening of 06/02/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a driving complaint at Sportsman’s Park in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located and spoke with some suspects. They were counseled about their driving conduct.
On the morning of 06/03/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported being harassed by another individual. A Red Lake County deputy spoke with the reporting party and advice was given.
On the afternoon of 06/03/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog habitually barking and causing a nuisance in the city of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy spoke with the dog’s owners, and they agreed to take action to correct the problem.
On the evening of 06/03/25, Maggie Lynn Thunderhawk (20) of Thief River Falls was cited for speeding on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 06/05/25, a Terrebonne Township resident reported a trespass incident that resulted in property damage. That report is still under investigation.
On the evening of 06/05/25, a Red Lake Falls Township resident reported their dog had gone missing. They described the dog as a pit bull dalmatian cross. If anyone has any information about the missing dog, they can call the Sheriff’s Office.
On the evening of 06/05/25, Red Lake County Emergency Response agencies provided the Section 8A Baseball Champion Red Lake County Rebels back into the county. The team was escorted through Oklee, Plummer and Red Lake Falls. Congratulations Rebels and best of luck at the State Baseball Tournament next week!
