On the afternoon of 05/08/25, Melissa Joanne Jones (35) of Oklee was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on Hwy. #92 west of Brooks.
On the afternoon of 05/09/25, the Red Lake Falls Fire Department was dispatched to a fire that was getting out of control at the compost pile in Red Lake Falls. The fire was quickly extinguished and nothing of value was damaged.
On the afternoon of 05/09/25, a Red Lake County deputy spoke to an individual who reported a theft of property in the city of Plummer. That report remains under investigation.
In the early morning hours of 05/10/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received two separate calls from individuals with a complaint of a dog habitually barking and causing a nuisance in the city of Brooks. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene and found the dog had been put back inside of the owner’s house, but nobody would answer the door when the deputy requested to speak to the occupants in reference to the complaint made about their dog. The owner of the dog, Kimberly Joyce Knutson (41) of Brooks was cited for misdemeanor allowing a public nuisance.
On the evening of 05/11/25, an Oklee resident reported that their child was being harassed while they were playing in their yard by another individual. A Red Lake County deputy responded and spoke with the involved parties. Advice on obtaining a harassment restraining order was given to the reporting party and the other individual was counseled about their behavior.
On the afternoon of 05/14/25, a juvenile male from Red Lake Falls was cited for speeding on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 05/14/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog habitually barking and causing a nuisance in the city of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded and spoke with the dog’s owner about the complaint. The owner agreed to put the dog into the house to remedy the problem.
On 05/15/25, a Red Lake Falls resident reported they had been victimized by a scammer and had lost some money. The victim’s bank was aware of the transaction and the case remains under investigation.
On the afternoon of 05/15/25, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a downed power line in a yard in the city of Red Lake Falls. Ottertail Power company personnel quickly arrived on the scene and handled the matter.
On the afternoon of 05/15/25, the Red Lake Falls Fire Department, the Red Lake Falls Ambulance Service and Red Lake County deputies responded to a report of a trailer house fire in Gervais Township northeast of Red Lake Falls. The trailer house was destroyed, but no other buildings were damaged, and there were no injuries. The property owner was present when the fire started. It was determined the fire started near the structure’s entrance and the incident remains under investigation.
