News Release – 8/23/2024

On 08/16/24, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Gerry Lee Mattison (63) of Red Lake Falls with gross misdemeanor trespassing and gross misdemeanor harassment. The complaint alleges Mr. Mattison entered the property of another, without the consent of the owner, and the property was utilized for commercial cattle production. It is alleged that Mr. Mattison moved a section of fencing because he did not agree with the certified property line survey. It is also alleged that this act of trespassing caused the property owner substantial emotional distress. Mr. Mattison will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls in September of 2024.

On the afternoon of 08/17/24, Kelly Krotzer (40) of Oklee was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on 4th Ave. in Oklee.

On the evening of 08/17/24, Wayne Kenneth Alten (55) of Plummer was cited for illegal window tint on a motor vehicle and no proof of current motor vehicle insurance on Hwy. #59 north of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 08/18/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unattended child at the Oaks Trailer Court in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the area and returned the small child to their father. The father was counseled.

On the afternoon of 08/18/24, a Lambert Township resident reported their teenage child had run away from home and was refusing to return. A Red Lake County deputy located the juvenile at a relative’s home, and they were safe. Further investigation revealed this was actually a custody issue and the reporting party was instructed to bring the matter to Family Court.

On the evening of 08/18/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shirtless man walking up to a residence along Hwy. #92 south of Oklee. A Red Lake County deputy responded and found the male walking along the highway. He was given a ride to his destination.

On the evening of 08/19, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a female walking along CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located the individual. They claimed they had a dispute with their friends at the Voyageur’s View Campground, so they left. The female refused a ride with the deputy, but her friends were notified of her whereabouts, and they went to pick her up.

On the evening of 08/19, a Gervais Township resident reported a theft of property. That report is still under investigation.

On the morning of 08/20/24, Red Lake County law enforcement responded to a report of a small child that was not supervised, walking around the area of 5th St. SW in Red Lake Falls. The child was safely returned to their grandmother, and the grandmother was counseled.
