NEWS RELEASE 05-24-24

On the evening of 05/17/24, Red Lake County deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at an Oklee residence. Deputies spoke with the involved parties and found that it was a verbal disagreement and no crimes had been committed. The individuals were counseled and one of them agreed to leave the residence for the night.

In the early morning hours of 05/18/24, a person camping at Sportsman’s Park in Red Lake Falls reported they thought they heard gunshots, and someone screaming somewhere in that part of town. Red Lake County deputies responded and found that at a nearby residence, a man had fallen asleep with his stereo playing music very loudly. The resident was counseled, the music was turned down and all was OK.

On the morning of 05/18/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a theft of property. That report is still under investigation.

On the morning of 05/18/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Red Lake Falls Township residence. A Red Lake County deputy responded and found two individuals, who used to be in a relationship together, were having a dispute over division of some personal property. They were counseled and one of the involved parties agreed to leave the residence.

On the afternoon of 05/18/24, Hunter Perry James Lundeen (24) of Red Lake Falls was cited for speeding on CR. #19 north of Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 05/18/24, Shane Michael Drury (44) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on Hwy. #32 in Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 05/20/24, the Thief River Falls Police Department forwarded a report they had received, to the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The report was regarding a possible child protection matter that would have occurred in Red Lake County. That report remains under investigation.

On the evening of 05/21/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Red Lake Falls residence. A Red Lake County deputy responded and spoke with the involved individuals. It was discovered that it was a verbal argument and no crimes had been committed. The parties were counseled, and the situation was mediated.

On the afternoon of 05/22/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of someone burning refuse in a barrel at the Oaks Trailer Court in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded. Tristan Jeremy Loiland (20) of Red Lake Falls was cited for the city ordinance violation.

On the afternoon of 05/22/24, a Red Lake County deputy went to the Dollar General Store in Red Lake Falls to investigate a report of a possible theft. The theft allegation is still under investigation, and Dollar General management was advised they could formally trespass the suspects if they did not want them in their store anymore.

On the evening of 05/22/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible break-in and theft in the city of Oklee. That incident remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 05/23/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property from the Mall in Red Lake Falls. That report is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 05/23/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported some damage to their property and also a theft of property. The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate that report.
