On 11/19/20, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Derek Edward Gould (35) of Bemidji. Red Lake County held an active felony warrant for his arrest. Beltrami County also held an active warrant for Mr. Gould. He will be held in Beltrami County until his affairs there are settled, then he will be released to Red Lake County Authorities.
In the early morning hours of 11/21/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Plummer. Red Lake County deputies responded and found that Travis Roy Johnson Jr. (36) of Plummer had physically assaulted his wife. He was arrested for the domestic assault offense. Red Lake County also held an active gross misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Additionally, Mr. Johnson was in violation of a Court Order; not to have contact with his wife because of a pending domestic assault case. Mr. Johnson was uncooperative with the deputies and he kicked the inside of the squad car door, causing damage to the vehicle. He was booked for gross misdemeanor domestic assault, felony property damage, the outstanding warrant, and the violation of the court order. The Oklee Ambulance was also summoned to the scene to provide medical assistance to the victim. She was treated at the scene and was not transported to the hospital. Mr. Johnson appeared in Court in Crookston on 11/23/20. He posted an $800 cash bond and was released with several conditions, including not to have contact with the victim and he was excluded from the Plummer residence. His next court date was scheduled for 11/25/20 in Red Lake Falls.
On 11/23/20, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Olena Kay Anderson (35) of Red Lake Falls with gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety. This charge was the result of a traffic stop in Red Lake Falls back on 11/04/20. Ms. Anderson will be summoned to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls in December of 2020.
On the morning of 11/24/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault that allegedly occurred at a residence in Oklee the previous evening. That report is still under investigation.
On the morning of 11/24/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property from inside of a vehicle that was parked outside of a residence in Brooks. That case is still under investigation.
