On the evening of 09/01/21, Steven John Sebenaler (62) of Oklee was cited for speeding on CR. #5 north of Oklee.

On the evening of 09/02/21, Desiree Ann Parrish (23) was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 09/03/21, Kaleb Lee Pemberton (21) of Redby was cited for speeding on CR. #8 south of Oklee.

On the afternoon of 09/03/21, Red Lake County deputies stopped a vehicle on 2nd Ave. in the city of Oklee because they knew the driver had a revoked driver’s license. Austin Lee Garceau (28) of Thief River Falls was arrested for that misdemeanor crime. Further investigation at the scene led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Garceau was taken to the jail in Crookston, booked for gross misdemeanor possession of illegal controlled substances and misdemeanor driving after revocation. He was released from custody on 09/06/21 and he will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later in September.

On the evening of 09/03/21, an individual from rural Brooks reported their dog was missing. The dog was described as a large Mastiff and at the time of this release, it has not been located. If anyone has any information about the missing dog, they are asked to contact the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

On the afternoon of 09/04/21, Easten Timothy Kazmierczak (18) of Mentor was cited for speeding on CR. #7 east of Hwy. #59.

On the morning of 09/05/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassing and theft that occurred in Red Lake Falls township. The missing property was located and returned to the victim. The reporting party did not want to pursue criminal charges so the matter was closed.

On the afternoon of 09/05/21, the Oklee Fire Department, the Oklee Ambulance, and Red Lake County deputies were dispatched to a house fire on Lambert St. in Oklee. The fire was extinguished but the home was substantially damaged. Nobody was injured but two adult occupants and their four children have been displaced. The Red Cross has been providing assistance to the affected family The State Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted at the scene to attempt to determine the origin of the fire. The incident remains under investigation.

On the morning of 09/07/21, a Red Lake County deputy responded to Clearwater County to provide assistance with civil unrest related to anti-Line 3 pipeline protests.

On the afternoon of 09/07/21, Francis Lee Jerome (44) of Oklee was arrested in Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County held an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Mr. Jerome posted a $100 cash bond to satisfy the warrant. He was released from custody and was scheduled to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls on 09/15/21.

On the evening of 09/07/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that two dogs were on the loose and they had broken open a rabbit cage and killed two domesticated rabbits. This occurred at a residence in the city of Oklee. Hunter Perry James Lundeen (21) of Trail and Jerrod Lee Larson (46) of Oklee were identified as the owners of the nuisance dogs. Both men were cited with Owner’s Liable violations for allowing their dogs to run loose and cause damage to other’s property.
