Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office 11-9-2024

On the morning of 11/01/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a small child was walking around near the school in Oklee, and they were unsupervised. Red Lake County law enforcement officers responded to the school and located the child. Shortly after, the guardian arrived at the scene. The child was safely returned to the guardian, and they were counseled. Red Lake County Social Services was also notified about the incident for additional investigation.

On the afternoon of 11/01/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported some damage to campaign signs. That report remains under investigation.

On the morning of 11/02/24, the Dollar General Store in Red Lake Falls reported a theft. That report is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 11/02/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about an individual driving recklessly on an ATV in the city of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located and stopped the suspect vehicle. The driver was counseled.

Shortly after midnight on 11/03/24, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on CR. #1 east of Red Lake Falls for unsafe driving conduct. Investigation during the stop revealed the driver, Elizabeth Danielle Peterson (35) of Erskine, was intoxicated. She was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston and was booked for gross misdemeanor DWI. Ms. Peterson appeared in Court in Crookston on 11/04/24 and she was ordered to pay $700 cash bail to be released. The bail was posted, and she was released from custody and must also abide by court-ordered conditions. She had a 2nd hearing in Red Lake Falls on 11/06/24, and her next court appearance has been scheduled for 12/18/24 in Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 11/04/24, a Plummer Juvenile was cited for illegal window tint on a motor vehicle on CR. #5 north of Oklee.

On the morning of 11/05/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of illegal dumping in the city of Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy looked into the matter and was able to remedy the situation without the filing of any criminal charges.

On the evening of 11/05/24, Red Lake County deputies assisted a Plummer resident who was having issues with a family member. Some personal items were returned to the complainant, and the parties involved were counseled and advised.

On the morning of 11/06/24, Red Lake County deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at an Oklee residence. Investigation revealed that no crimes had been committed, so the parties involved were counseled, and the situation was mediated.

On the evening of 11/06/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Lambert Township residence. The parties involved had already separated prior to the initial report. No crimes had been committed, and both individuals were counseled.
