On the evening of 09/11/21, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls for speeding. Further investigation during the stop revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Derek Amund Larson (36) of Glyndon was arrested for the misdemeanor DWI offense. He was cited for the violation and released from custody the following morning. He will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later this month.

On the afternoon of 09/12/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an individual getting bitten by a dog that was running loose in the city of Oklee. A Red Lake County deputy conducted an investigation into the matter. The victim sustained a minor injury to their leg. The owner of the dog was located and Jessica Lynn Lindemoen (41) of Oklee was cited for allowing a dog to run at large in the city of Oklee.

On the afternoon of 09/12/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible Order for Protection violation. The reporting victim is a Red Lake Falls resident and the suspect now resides in another jurisdiction. This matter remains under investigation.

On the evening of 09/12/21, Janica Thelma Cole (20) of Cottage Grove was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 09/13/21, a juvenile male from Erskine was cited for a muffler-related equipment violation on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 09/13/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County deputies responded and found that it was a verbal argument. The matter was resolved without arrests or citations.

On the afternoon of 09/14/21, Jaris James Lane (32) of Plummer was arrested in Red Lake Falls by a Red Lake County deputy. Polk County held an active felony warrant for his arrest. Mr. Lane was turned over to Polk County authorities and he was taken to the jail in Crookston.

On the evening of 09/14/21, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on Hwy. #92 south of Oklee because the driver, Stephan Thomas Thompson (30) of Bagley, had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Clearwater County. Further investigation at the scene led to the discovery of a methamphetamine-smoking device. Mr. Thompson was taken to the jail in Crookston, booked for the controlled substance crime in Red Lake County and the Clearwater County warrant. He is making his initial court appearance in Crookston on 09/17/21.

On the evening of 09/14/21, Nolan Duane Dodds (18) of West Fargo was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.

In the early morning hour of 09/16/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received an alert from the Ultima Bank in Plummer about a possible break-in. Red Lake County deputies responded to the scene and found that someone had attempted to break into an exterior door at the bank. Entry was not gained and it appeared that the alarm had scared off the potential burglars. No suspects have been identified, but the case remains under investigation.
