On the evening of 02/12/21, a Red Lake County deputy was investigating a traffic complaint on Hwy. #59 north of Plummer. The suspect vehicle was not located and the deputy was turning around to head back south. While the deputy made the U-turn, he did not see a northbound vehicle coming up behind him and the vehicles collided. Both vehicles were severely damaged, but fortunately, nobody involved was injured. The Minnesota State Patrol handled the crash investigation and the Thief River Falls Area Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene. The Red Lake County deputy was cited for failure to yield and the driver of the other vehicle was also cited for driving while having a revoked license.
On the evening of 02/12/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office was informed that a Red Lake Falls resident was intoxicated, which violated their court-ordered conditions of release, set by the Court for another pending criminal matter. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the suspect’s residence and the matter remains under investigation.
On 02/16/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property from a location in Emardville Township. That report is still under investigation.
On the evening of 02/18/21, Rebecca Lea Morris (54) of Oklee was cited for misdemeanor driving without a valid driver’s license.
On the evening of 02/18/21, a juvenile from Erskine was cited for speeding on Hwy. #32 south of Red Lake Falls.
