On the afternoon of 03/10/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible assault. Investigation revealed that two young juveniles were involved in the incident and the children and parents were counseled. No criminal charges were filed.

On the afternoon of 03/11/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received reports of two separate occupied vehicles in the ditch. One was along Hwy. #92 west of Brooks and the other was north of Dorothy on CR. #3. A Red Lake County deputy was able to respond to both of the crash scenes and gave occupants rides, but because of the dangerous weather and road conditions, the vehicles had to be removed the following day.

On the afternoon of 03/15/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a possible assault that occurred in Brooks approximately two weeks ago. That report remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 03/15/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an individual had violated a domestic order for protection. A Red Lake County deputy met with the complainant, and it was determined that probable cause existed to validate the complaint. This led to the arrest of Corey Lee Berberich (46) of Brooks. He was arrested at his home that evening. Mr. Berberich was taken to the jail in Crookston and booked for the misdemeanor violation. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 03/16/23 and he was released with conditions, including not having contact with the victim.

On the evening of 03/15/23, Timothy Lee Palm (35) of Trail was cited for speeding on CR. #7 west of Hwy. #92.
