News Release 12-01-23
On the afternoon of 11/22/23, members of the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisted officers of the Pine to Prairie Violent Crime Enforcement Task Force with arresting Nicholas Walter Johnson (36) of Red Lake Falls at his residence. Pennington County held an active felony warrant for his arrest. Mr. Johnson had been criminally charged with felony sale of illegal controlled substances in Thief River Falls in the summer of 2023. He was taken to the Pennington County jail.
On the afternoon of 11/26/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a juvenile had been brought to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls to be treated for an accidental medication overdose. This incident occurred in Plummer. The child was treated and is expected to make a full recovery. This matter remains under investigation.
On the evening of 11/26/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible sexual solicitation of a minor, via electronic media. A Red Lake County deputy conducted an initial investigation into the matter. It was discovered that the juvenile victim was in Polk County when they received the messages. Reports have been forwarded to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
On the afternoon of 11/27/23, a domestic dispute at a Red Lake Falls residence was reported. Red Lake County deputies responded to the scene and found that no crimes had been committed. A juvenile left the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival, but they were quickly located and brought home. Involved parties were counseled and the situation was mediated.
On the morning of 11/28/23, a Red Lake Falls resident reported being harassed by another individual. That report remains under investigation.
On the evening of 11/28/23, a Red Lake Falls juvenile was cited for violating their provisional driver’s license on Hamilton Ave. in Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 11/29/23, Red Lake County law enforcement, the Red Lake Falls Ambulance, and the Red Lake Falls Fire Department were dispatched to a Louisville Township residence because an individual was pinned under a log. The caller claimed they were not injured, just stuck. The responding deputy was able to move the log and free the man’s leg. No medical attention was required, and all turned out to be okay.
On the afternoon of 11/30/23, Robert Duncan Fox (30) of Clearbrook was cited for an equipment violation on Broadway Ave. in Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 11/30/23, Lane Allen Anderson (27) of Red Lake Falls was arrested. Earlier that afternoon, a District Court Judge issued a felony warrant for his arrest. Mr. Anderson was taken to jail in Crookston and booked for felony adulteration. The criminal complaint alleges Mr. Anderson intentionally gave a vulnerable adult a mixed drink containing methamphetamine and MDMA (Ecstasy). The victim became ill and eventually had to be treated at the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls. This occurred in Red Lake Falls in early November of 2023.
