On the evening of 05/13/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible physical abuse of a child. After investigation it was determined the injury was an accident and no abuse or neglect is suspected.

On the afternoon of 05/15/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog getting loose and attacking another dog in the complainant’s yard. The matter is being handled by the owners of the dogs.

On the morning of 05/16/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of counterfeit money received by Unity Bank in Red Lake Falls. That case is still under investigation.

On the morning of 05/16/23, Red Lake County law enforcement, the Red Lake Falls Ambulance and the Red Lake Falls Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls. The lone occupant had to be extracted from the vehicle by the fire department and they were transported to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls, by the Red Lake Falls Ambulance, to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was eastbound on CR. #13, left the roadway and entered the north ditch, striking a crossing and rolling. The vehicle was totally damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

On the morning of 05/16/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft from an Emardville Township resident. That matter remains under investigation.

On the evening of 05/17/23, Red Lake County deputies spoke to individuals in Red Lake Falls who claimed that they were being harassed and threatened by one another. The involved parties were counseled, and the matter is still under investigation.

On the evening of 05/17/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an employee was being harassed and threatened by a customer at a Red Lake Falls establishment. The involved parties were counseled.

On the evening of 05/17/23, a Red Lake County deputy investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on a minimum maintenance road in Garnes Township. The deputy located the vehicle and found that it was occupied by an adult female. The vehicle was having mechanical issues and she was given a ride to her home.

On the evening of 05/18/23, Jamie Kyle Nelson (42) of Viking was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Plummer.
