NEWS RELEASE 03-24-23

On the afternoon of 03/16/23, the Plummer Fire Department and a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a one-vehicle rollover crash on Hwy. #59 north of Plummer. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene, but no injuries were reported.

In the early morning hours of 03/18/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog barking at a Red Lake Falls residence. A Red Lake County deputy responded, but could not make contact with the owner of the dog to remedy the nuisance. Dustin Dewitt Fornshell (37) of Red Lake Falls was cited for violating the city’s animal nuisance ordinance.

On the afternoon of 03/20/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a tanker truck loaded with diesel fuel went into the ditch along Hwy. #59 near the Brooks Cenex. There were no injuries but the deputy provided traffic control assistance until the truck was removed from the ditch.

On the afternoon of 03/20/23, a Red Lake Falls resident reported that their child was being harassed and possibly scammed on-line. The parent was counseled and advise was given.

On the morning of 03/21/23, a Red Lake Falls resident reported they had been a victim of a scam and some money had been stolen from their bank account. That report remains under investigation.
