On the afternoon of 06/17/22, Cory Edward Schmitz (25) of Plummer was cited for speeding on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 06/17/22, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of an ATV and a dirt bike riding on the softball field in Plummer. The suspects had left the area prior to the deputy’s arrival, but a juvenile male was located at a nearby residence and they were counseled.

On the afternoon of 06/18/22, a Brooks resident reported a theft of property from their residence. That report is still under investigation.

On the evening of 06/18/22, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls for speeding. The driver of the vehicle, Paige Eve Howe (22) of Grand Forks was cited for expired motor vehicle registration. Two passengers in the vehicle had been consuming alcohol and they were under 21 years of age. Abby Patricia Verville (20) of Grand Forks and Savanna Morgan Peterson (20) of Walhalla were both cited for minor consumption.

On the evening of 06/18/22, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on CR. #13 west of Red Lake Falls for speeding. There were two occupants in the vehicle and both had recently consumed alcohol. The passenger was over 21 years of age, but the driver was not. Nicholas John Van Camp (19) of Drayton was cited for minor consumption while driving. Both individuals were detained until they were able to get a ride from an individual who had not been consuming alcohol.

On the afternoon of 06/19/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Red Lake Falls residence. A Red Lake County deputy responded and found that 5 individuals were engaged in a verbal altercation outside of the residence. No arrests were made and the situation was mediated, but all of the involved individuals; Brandie Lee Audette (30) of Red Lake Falls, Nathan Shawn Tinkler (21) of Grand Forks, Kylee Elizabeth Sauve (23), Jamie Louis Sauve (51) and Casey Louis Sauve (28) of Red Lake Falls were cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

On the afternoon of 06/20/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a semi-truck and trailer tipped over on Hwy. #59 between Brooks and Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy and the Oklee Fire Department assisted at the scene. No injuries were reported and the truck and trailer were towed from the scene.

Emergency responders also provided assistance with several storm damage-related calls in the eastern portion of the county. It was confirmed that a tornado traveled in a northeast direction in Lambert Township, the city of Oklee, Garnes Township, and Equality Township. Several structures were destroyed or damaged, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Power outages that lasted several hours also affected the area. Members of the Oklee Fire Department and several other community members provided assistance at the E&J Grocery in Oklee to transfer refrigerated and frozen food into a reefer trailer to prevent it from spoiling.

On the evening of 06/22/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some suspicious activity in the city of Brooks. The caller reported a female was walking around town and a male in a vehicle was following her around and attempting to get her to enter his vehicle. A deputy responded and found that the two individuals reside together in Brooks. The female was intoxicated, but she was not committing any crimes and she returned to her residence.

In the early morning hours of 06/23/22, a Red Lake County deputy encountered two juveniles walking around the city of Red Lake Falls. Their parents were contacted to pick them up and return them to their homes.

On the evening of 06/23/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of sheep running loose in the city of Oklee. Red Lake County deputies responded and were able to assist in getting them back to where they belong.

On the evening of 06/23/22, Hannah Marcie Carter (18) of Shevlin was cited for speeding on CR. #7 east of Hwy. #59.
