On the morning of 08/05/22, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a vehicle striking a light pole in the city of Oklee. No injuries were reported, there was minor damage to the vehicle and the light pole was severely damaged. An accident report was completed and utility crews were contacted to repair the pole.

On the afternoon of 08/05/22, Jacob Jared Fawver (38) of Clearbrook was cited for speeding on CR. #7 west of Hwy. #92.

On the afternoon of 08/05/22, Tamra Steen Nelson (73) of Minneapolis was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 in Plummer.

On the afternoon of 08/05/22, Tyler Steven Temple (36) of Grand Forks was cited for speeding on CR. #49 west of Hwy. #59.

On the evening of 08/05/22, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls for displaying an expired registration sticker. Investigation during the stop revealed that the driver, Deneen Marie Morgan (57) of Red Lake Falls had a revoked driver’s license and did not have insurance on her motor vehicle. Drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine residue were also discovered. Ms. Morgan was arrested, and taken to the jail in Crookston and she was booked for gross misdemeanor possession of an illegal controlled substance, gross misdemeanor no current motor vehicle insurance, misdemeanor driving after revocation, and expired motor vehicle registration. She was released from custody on 08/08/22 and she will be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls to face these charges at a later date.

On the evening of 08/05/22, Kyja Ann Thorsgard (65) of Denver, CO was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 in Brooks.

On the afternoon of 08/06/22, Jonathan Oliver Shaw (21) of St. Paul was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 08/06/22, Travis Ernest Johnson (51) of Beltrami was cited for speeding on Hwy. #32 south of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 08/06/22, Kourtney Marie Konickson (45) of Thief River Falls was cited for speeding on CR. #5 north of Oklee.

On the afternoon of 08/07/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received several calls about small children playing on the roadway near Bridge St. and Broadway Ave. in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded to that area and the children were off of the roadway when they arrived. The deputy located a caregiver and the children were all safe the situation was resolved.

On the morning of 08/09/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary/theft that occurred in Equality Township. That report remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 08/09/22, Ryan Harold Johnson (50) of Bloomington was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Plummer.

On the afternoon of 08/09/22, a Red Lake County deputy observed an individual outside of the Cenex Store in Red Lake Falls soliciting money from patrons. That person was advised to discontinue that activity and move away from that location. They complied with the request and left the area.

On the afternoon of 08/10/22, an Oklee resident reported some kids playing in an abandoned house. A Red Lake County deputy responded, counseled the children and they left the area.

On the evening of 08/10/22, a Red Lake County deputy arrested Landon John Barnett (35) of Brooks, at his residence. Polk County held an active gross misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Mr. Barnett was turned over to Polk County authorities.

On the evening of 08/10/22, the Oklee Fire Department and a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a fire at a house in Oklee. The fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported and the damage was minor.

On the evening of 08/10/22, an individual contacted the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office and reported they had gotten their vehicle stuck while checking on some hunting land northeast of Oklee. A Red Lake County deputy responded and gave them a ride back to Oklee. The owner of the vehicle claimed they would get the vehicle out the following day.

On the morning of 08/11/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of individual trespassing at the Cenex Store in Brooks. A Red Lake County deputy responded and arrested Jason Daniel Jarvis (51) of Erskine. He was taken to the jail in Crookston and booked for misdemeanor trespassing. Mr. Jarvis remains in custody at the time of this release.

On the morning of 08/11/22, Red Lake County law enforcement responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Gervais Township. The parties at that residence were counseled and the situation was mediated.

On the morning of 08/11/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a juvenile operating an ATV in a reckless manner in the city of Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy responded and counseled a juvenile about ATV driving rules and regulations.

On the afternoon of 08/11/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that some construction workers striking a natural gas line in the city of Red Lake Falls. The Red Lake Falls Fire Department and a Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene. The damaged gas line was automatically shut down immediately after the break and there was no further threat. The utility company was contacted to come and repair the damaged line.

On the afternoon of 08/11/22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person injured in a crash on Hwy. #92 approximately 1 mile west of Oklee. Red Lake County law enforcement, the Oklee Ambulance, and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene. An adult and a small child were involved in a single-vehicle ATV crash. The adult female was taken from the scene by the Oklee Ambulance and she was transported to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls. The child sustained minor injuries and was released to their parents. The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the ongoing crash investigation.
