04-23-21 News Release

On 04/17/21, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Jose Maximo Martinez (24) of Thief River Falls with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and misdemeanor criminal damage to property. The complaint alleges Mr. Martinez was arguing, with a female, inside of a vehicle in the city of Red Lake Falls on 03/26/21. The argument became physical and he punched the female and ripped the mirror off of the windshield. The female then sprayed Mr. Martinez with mace and got him to exit the vehicle. She left him on the side of the roadway, drove off, and contacted law enforcement. He will be summoned to Court in Red Lake Falls to face these criminal charges.

On the afternoon of 04/16/21, Christopher John Moran (31) of Oklee was cited for speeding on CR. #5 north of Oklee.

On the evening of 04/16/21, George N. Pappas (60) of Columbus, OH was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 04/17/21, Cody Allen Hanson (29) of Red Lake Falls was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 04/17/21, Kacie Lee Forners (37) of Crookston was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 04/17/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of a loud bang or an explosion in the city of Oklee. Reports claimed that it shook houses and rattled windows. The cause of that blast has not been found and that report is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 04/18/21, Brett Dennis Klop (26) of Argyle was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On 04/19/21, Mary Ione Hutchinson (38) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor theft. This charge was a result of an investigation into a report of shoplifting at Eagle Square on 04/03/21.

On the evening of 04/19/21, Tanner Jaden Keller (23) of Garfield, MN was cited for speeding on Hwy. #32 north of Red Lake Falls.

On 04/21/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about vehicles traveling at excessive speeds near the Hughes Elementary School in Red Lake Falls. Extra patrol has been assigned to that area.
