On 05/13/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of property damage to a building in Plummer. That matter is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 05/14/21, Cody Eldene Landrus (30) of Brooks was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation and no proof of current motor vehicle insurance on Hwy. #222 south of Oklee.

On the evening of 05/14/21, James Lee Lawrence (52) of McIntosh was cited for speeding on CR. #7, west of Hwy. #92 in Lambert Township.

On the evening of 05/15/21, Shane Adair Carlson (42) of Erskine was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the evening of 05/15/21, a Red Lake County deputy conducted a traffic stop on CR. #5 north of Oklee. The driver, Levi Scott Lappegard (29) of Fosston had a suspended driver’s license. He was arrested for this misdemeanor offense. Several illegal controlled substances were also found inside of Lappegard’s vehicle. He was taken to the jail in Crookston and booked on several charges, including felony possession of illegal controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, and other traffic offenses. Mr. Lappegard was released from custody on 05/17/21 and he will be summonsed for his next court appearance.

On the afternoon of 05/16/21, Paige Marie Rodarte (25) of Corpus Christi, TX was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 north of Plummer.

Around midnight on 05/17/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. The parties agreed to separate for the night and the matter was mediated without arrests or criminal charges. Red Lake County law enforcement was called back to the same residence later that same morning. It was determined that no crimes had been committed and the involved parties had to work out their differences.

On 05/17/21, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Randy Lee Olson Brosseau (35) of Red Lake Falls with gross misdemeanor DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia. The complaint alleges Mr. Brosseau was under the influence of methamphetamines when he drove his vehicle into the ditch along Central Ave. in Plummer on 11/06/20. Mr. Brosseau will be summonsed to Court in Red Lake Falls to face these charges in the coming weeks.

On the evening of 05/18/21, Red Lake County deputies were dispatched to a Red Lake Falls residence. The caller claimed that their adult son was intoxicated and threatening them with a knife. The deputies arrived and arrested Ethan Sean Peterson (22) of Red Lake Falls without incident. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but Mr. Peterson was taken to the jail in Crookston and was booked for felony assault. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 05/20/21. He posted a $750 cash bond and was released from custody, with conditions that include no consumption of alcohol. His next court appearance is scheduled for 06/09/21 in Red Lake Falls.

On the morning of 05/19/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a downed light pole, near the Spot Bar in Red Lake Falls. A deputy responded to the scene and found that a vehicle had struck the pole. After speaking to the driver of that vehicle, it was determined that driver had a seizure, causing the crash. No injuries were reported and the driver was released to a relative. No criminal charges were filed, and the driver’s insurance information was provided to the city so the cost of the damage to the light pole will be covered.

On the afternoon of 05/19/21, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Hwy. #59 and Hwy. #92 in Brooks. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Marvin Goulet Jr. (31) of Brooks was arrested for misdemeanor driving after revocation and contempt of court for violating the conditions of release from another pending criminal matter. Mr. Goulet was also cited for no proof of motor vehicle insurance and failure to change the address on his driver’s license. He was taken to jail in Crookston. Mr. Goulet appeared in Court in Crookston on 05/20/21 and he was released from custody with the same conditions as his previous court file. He is scheduled to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls on 06/09/21.
