On the morning of 03/12/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle fire in the city of Brooks. The Oklee Fire Department and the Plummer Fire Department were both dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished prior to their arrival and their response was canceled.

On 03/12/21, Donald Lee Otten (55) formerly of Oklee, turned himself into jail in Crookston. Red Lake County held an active warrant for his arrest. He appeared in Court in Red Lake Falls on 03/17/21. His case was continued and he remains in custody at the time of this release.

In the early morning hours of 03/13/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Plummer residence. Red Lake County deputies responded and found that an adult woman had been assaulted. The Plummer Fire Department and Oklee Ambulance were dispatched to respond and assist. The female was treated at the scene and was brought to a safe location with her children. The suspect left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. This case is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 03/13/21, John P. Struhel (51) of Sheridan, IL was cited for speeding on Hwy. #92 south of Oklee.

On the afternoon of 03/14/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property from a residence in Lambert Township. That report is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 03/14/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible assault in Brooks. Red Lake County deputies investigated the report, but the alleged victim denied that any assault had occurred. The matter was closed.

On the afternoon of 03/14/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of vandalism and littering in the city of Red Lake Falls. That matter remains under investigation.

On the evening of 03/14/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of a man causing a disturbance and arousing alarm to citizens in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy located the individual. Duane Terry Jacobson (44) of Red Lake Falls was arrested and taken to jail in Crookston. He was booked for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Mr. Jacobson appeared in Court in Crookston on 03/15/21 and he was released from custody.

On the afternoon of 03/15/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire in Oklee. The Oklee Fire Department, Oklee Ambulance, Red Lake County law enforcement, and the Plummer Fire Department all responded to the scene. The fire was contained and extinguished, but the house sustained substantial damage. The residents of the home were gone when the fire started. The Oklee Fire Department is working with the State Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the exact cause of the fire, but no foul play is suspected.

On 03/16/21, as a result of continued investigation into a traffic stop near Oklee on 03/06/21, Brandon Craig Ambuehl (28) of Gary was charged with four offenses. He was charged with misdemeanor obstructing legal process, misdemeanor unregistered motor vehicle, petty misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, and petty misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. April Marie Kimbro of Oklee was also charged with felony sale of methamphetamine to add to her current felony-controlled substance possession charge. They will both be summonsed to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later this month.

On 03/16/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Red Lake Falls around two years ago. That report is still under investigation.

On the afternoon of 03/16/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office was asked to go to the Chateau Motel in Red Lake Falls and apprehend Aaron Micah Knott (40) of Crookston. This was to enforce a court order from Polk County. Mr. Knott was apprehended without incident and he was turned over to Polk County authorities.

On the afternoon of 03/17/21, Raymond Sydney Landvick (34) of Red Lake Falls came to the Sheriff’s Office and posted a $50 cash bond to satisfy an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was released from custody and he will make his next court appearance in Red Lake Falls on 03/31/21.

In the early morning hours of 03/18/21, Red Lake County deputies responded to two separate domestic disturbance calls in the city of Red Lake Falls. Both incidents were mediated and settled without any arrests or the filing of criminal charges.

On 03/18/21, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Plummer approximately two years ago. That report remains under investigation.
